This week we are posting our Business Advocacy Key Leaders Breakfast audio in our Expert Commentaries section. The panel was asked 7 questions surrounding regional transportation and funding. We hope you get a good feel of each panelists view and willingness to answer, directly, the questions.
In our articles, we look at current projects, or lack-there-of in the region, and how it might effect trucking as well your commute.
Last, we revisit the current ODOT survey about the Regional Mobility Pricing Project. There are 3 scenarios to consider… the fourth, obvious, option is not considered.
In Short
Article 1 - In this web link, ODOT has posted a list of the Special Projects Funded by HB2017. You can see specific Highway projects by choosing filter settings on the page.
What we find interesting is that the I-205 3rd lane/Tualatin Bridge projects are not listed. Yes, they have been eliminated, by ODOT, but that does not eliminate the fact that they were approved by HB2017. Which raises a question…
If Legislatures pass a law what gives ODOT the ability to cancel that law? Legislatures fund and ODOT is to do… or do we have that all wrong?
Article 2 - John Ley writes a piece on the promises that were made to Oregon truckers during HB2017. The Clark County Today article takes a deeper dive into our Key Leaders Breakfast at what was said during the hour and thirty minute panel discussion.
Article 3 - In case you missed it, ODOT sent out a survey last week… https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DRRPBQS… that asks which of the 3 Regional Mobility Pricing Projects you prefer. Note it does not asks if you want one or not.
We are re-posting, from last week, West Linn Mayor Rory Bialostosky’s response and want to ask, “What do you think of this survey?”
