Christmas and Money Trees..
Both seem to grow well in Oregon as we pay for one and fill the other for ODOT...
As we approach the end of 2023, and now in the Holiday Season, we want to thank all of you who have continued to support us with your words of affirmation. When Oregontollingupdates.com started up, over a year ago, we had no idea the reach and impact we would have. It is our intention to bring you clear information and education about the current plans for our freeways.
Our Podcast, for the next 3 weeks, will summarize the past, present and possible future of the state of tolling in Oregon. We hope you point these podcasts out to the many who have no clue of the programs being planned for our highways.
In our articles, we look at the new support ODOT received from the Governor, people voice their opinion about tolling and New York City (Manhattan) is an experiment in the making.
This coming Thursday night, Dec. 14th from 5pm-7pm, Wilsonville City Council Chambers at City Hall, 29799 SW Town Center Loop East, Wilsonville. Come out to share your concerns to the Joint Committee on Transportation Special Subcommittee on Transportation Planning. Sign-ups are 30min before the meeting and you will have 2min to talk.
Our latest commercial, with the link below, is a great way to simplify our thoughts…

In Short
Article 1 - ODOT has said, these last few weeks, that they did not have the monies to continue Operations and Maitenance (O&M)… so they were cutting back. The Governor and Legislators Allocated another $19 million to ODOT.
In this KATU article note the $19 million is to cover the need for this Biennium, 2023-2025.
Article 2 - In this YourOregonNews.com piece, a recent survey is discussed and vetted. The opinion of readers seems to be pretty clear, and some even gave ODOT a few suggestions. Well that or the universal your #1 sign.
FYI, you may have to sign up to read this article…
Article 3 - New York City’s Cordon pricing seems to be ready to launch in 2024. With a pending lawsuit or two to halt the program, and many commuters crying foul, New York is the petri dish for Americas first city wide toll program. If you drive into Manhattan you will pay a toll. If you take mass transit you will not.
Too bad many of us in Oregon do not have the option of alternative types of transportation to make a different choice…
